As the Welsh Sheepdog has wonderful steady work skills they are being breed with other sheepdog types, such as Border Collies. Obviously this is mixing the characteristics of both working breeds, some would say mixing the best of both. So far the cross Welsh breeds I have met have been lovely dogs and steady workers, but this may not always happen. The Welsh Sheepdog Society is not keen to have this happen, as the Welsh Sheepdog as an idiginous working dog, are low in numbers. They are aware, however, that accidents happen, or people are choosing to mate across the breeds.
This part of the website is therefore, for all those Welsh Cross breeds that are doing wonderfully well in all disciplines of the dog world and have loving homes.
