Aubrey appeared in an article on Gina Pink by the Surrey Advertiser, on 11th May 2007.

Quote: Dog owner Kathleen Stubbings also believes her 20-month-old Welsh sheepdog Aubrey’s visits to East Horsley keep him fit and healthy.  “Aubrey’s been coming since last autumn and he really enjoys it.  He’s not the brightest dog around but he does have his moments of glory.  He’s from working stock, so he’s more used to chasing sheep” she said.  “It helps his concentration and social skills having to do things with other dogs in the room.  The classes keep the dogs fit and well and keeps their muscles supple.  It really is a good all-round sport.”

Herding Lessons

Aubrey’s head for hearding didn’t turn on until he was 12 months old.  His first lessons taught me patience.  As you can see by the photos, he didn’t like those black things at all!

We have had four sessions with a Shepherd who works Welsh Sheepdogs on her farm.  Aubrey really improved having more sheep to work with..  Adeline put Aubrey on YouTube - take a look!

On 26th October 2008 Aubrey passed his registration assessment. We are now a registered Welsh Sheepdog!

COMMENTS OF INTEREST: Very independent learner, high intelligence & energy, strong guard instinct, penetrating bark when wants attention or running in the pack, works at distance with ease, very confident when working, extremely friendly to animals & people, very affectionate & tactile (likes to sit on you!).  Aubrey is a member of the Canine Film Academy.
